When you start a new blog and you want to make it popular, there’s a few things that you’ll need to make sure you do before you begin to find success with it.
1 Find a niche topic
What will make your blog stand out from the rest is providing content that is not being provided elsewhere. Or if they’re already doing it, try to make your blog ‘the leading expert on the subject’, and exceed what they’re already doing.
If someone is writing on a topic that you think you could write better, then do it! Make sure it’s original though. You don’t want to be accused of being a copycat.
2 Write your content
You will need at least 30 posts or articles. The more content you write, the more people will come to your blog. As stuff is written, the search engines will index it, and allow it to be found in searches. The more you write, the more will find what you write, and the more visitors you’ll have! Try to write something at least once a day, and just don’t stop!
Even when your blog seems to be successful, keep writing – that’s WHY it’s successful, because people value what you’re writing about.
3 Make your post titles short and snappy
There’s one fact that you have to deal with when writing a blog and trying to attract an audience. The first thing people will see of you is the title of your blog post. This is what shows up in Google searches. If it’s too long and gets truncated, people won’t even realise its value and will not click on it.
If you have a long titles, it just won’t grab people’s attention.
4 You have three seconds to get their interest
So along with a short and snappy title, you must have something exciting and interesting, and yet intriguing, in the first paragraph. Grab their attention, and hold on to them. Only then, as they continue reading, can you start to ease up and get into the actual gist of the article.
5 Provide value
People these days are interested in how you can help them. You need to show how you can help them within the first 3 seconds of glancing at your post. If you can do that, they’ll hang around and read the rest of it. Write good articles, and they’ll hang around and read more of it.
6 Allow subscribers
If you can facilitate easy subscriber access, you’ll have people using RSS Readers and email to keep up to date with further posts that you write.
Summary
If you don’t follow the above rules, your blog simply won’t become successful. Sure, you might get a few subscribers, and you might be happy with that. But you can make your blog unique and rewarding for everyone by following these simple rules of blogging success.
